Review: Garden Party Scarf by Logandria

Logandria creates deliciously hedonistic 100% mulberry silk scarves, containing softly erotic imagery with mythology and fantasy themes. Her designs are filled with interesting details and meanings, much like a fantastical adult-themed I-Spy book. It’s likely one would find something new within the design for some time to come.
Today I am reviewing the limited edition Garden Party scarf, which is one of the three Logandria designs NIN Luxury Lingerie carries.

Presentation:
The scarf comes in a nice pink gift box, with Logandria’s label embossed in gold. Inside is a helpful instructional card detailing how to provide your new item with the best care.

Imagery:
With its gorgeously warm colour palette of lush pinks, rich golds, and verdant greens, this scarf feels joyful! I can’t help but smile when looking at it!
The design itself is very well printed. I have seen many other scarves over the years where the printing turns out a bit fuzzy and undefined, but Logandria’s print lines are always sharp. The illustration has been mirror printed (printed on both sides), ensuring its vibrancy.
While Logandria’s scarves depict scenes based in fantasy, the bodies present are anything but. In this scarf, we see a collection of lovely humans in different shapes and sizes, complete with natural body hair, stretch marks, freckles, and blemishes on full display. So lovely! These ladies are having a delightfully decadent picnic. I won’t rob you of pouring over the illustration yourself, but some of my favourite details include the fruit innuendos (the provocative papaya, fertile pomegranate, cherries, bananas, and dangling litchis), a faint handprint on the serving maiden’s bottom, and well, who can go past the resplendent Dick Throne? (Yes, I said Dick Throne. Look closely, you’ll see them). It’s worth mentioning that due to all the ways this scarf can be folded, the more scandalous parts are easily concealed (or displayed, whichever takes your fancy!), leaving those who compliment on your beautiful scarf wondering why you’re smiling so coyly whilst thanking them.
Material:
Fresh out of the box, the 16 momme weight silk is delightfully crisp. The edges of the scarf are rolled, reminding me of Hermès’ finishing. The designer was kind to also loan me her personal scarves so that I would be able to see how they had worn after several washes. Once washed they become very soft and supple, which being a creature of textural delights, I personally prefer. Either way, the silk is gorgeous and sturdy. To be honest, I had not expected this silk to be as robust as it is! This makes these scarves a purchase that I would be unafraid to wear daily.
Durability:
As mentioned above, the silk seems like a very sturdy weave. I have also experienced several well-loved Logandria scarves that have been purposefully put through the wringer of a very active daily life (worn during hiking trips in the bush, tossed in the bottom of bags, used as a stylish head-covering in the rain). They are in remarkably good condition after all of the above.
Wearability:
With a multitude of options, your imagination is your only limit on how to best wear your scarf. Due to the detail-rich design, you are guaranteed to have something interesting peeking out no matter how you fold and tie it. This scarf measures 90cm x 90cm, which makes it suitable for a wide range of styling choices. Wear it traditionally around your neck, in your hair, as a belt, tied around the handles of a purse, as a free-spirited shirt, or however you desire.
Garden Party and other Logandria designs are currently available for drop-shipping (2-5 days for US customers, European customers can expect delivery in under 2 weeks. However these times may be impacted by Covid related delays) via NIN Luxury Lingerie
