Lingerie Review: Sloane by Agent Provocateur

If you're in the market for a set that'll make you feel like a vintage vixen, Sloane by Agent Provocateur is a must-have. This set perfectly combines classic style while still feeling modern and comfortable. After trying it, I wouldn’t be surprised if this design becomes an Agent Provocateur staple.

Design:
As soon as I laid eyes on Sloane, I knew it was going to be a winner. The cup shape reminded me of several of Agent Provocateur’s great past and present styles combined. For those familiar with style names, I’m referring to Molly and Nikita for cut and shapes, with a bit of Felinda aesthetics. Felinda’s fit was sadly always a bit off, so I am thrilled this has been released!

Vintage, burlesque, and glamour lovers will rejoice with this simple yet seductive style. This design features ever-so-soft stretch black satin, black lace ruffles, and decorative loop and crown edging. The classic gold-plated hardware and small black bows are present across the line and finish the pieces.

The bra is a lightly padded, low balconette cut. The cup is satin lined, which is a fabulous design decision, with a thoughtfully lined top seam. Well done AP!!

The soft stretch satin suspender is a classic cut featuring subtle side ruffles.

There are several bottom options, a thong, a brief, and a high-waisted brief. All the bottoms are high-cut, which provides a leg-lengthening effect.

Sizing & Fit:
While this range will suit all body types, due to the added stretch I will encourage curvy bodies to take note of this style, as I did in the past with Hinda.

The bra’s cup is more projected than AP’s normal (usually quite shallow), which I enjoyed. It gives a beautiful shape, lifts your bust and is very flattering. The bra band is true to size.

The suspender is true to size, with a smidge extra stretch. Not enough stretch to advise you to size down, but enough where I know it will not chastise me after indulging in warm comfort foods for a couple of months (it is swiftly approaching Winter here in New Zealand and I have grand lasagna-based plans!).

I opted to size up in the brief, as it appeared the bottoms were fitting tighter than normal on the models. After trying it on, I confirmed this was the case for the waistband portion only, but not for the bum cheek allowance (this ran as usual). If you are usually in between AP’s sizes, this information will help steer your choice on which size to choose. Otherwise, depending on your preferred fit, the difference may not be enough to go up a whole size.
Quality & Durability:
This is the highest quality I’ve seen from AP in quite a while. Which is fantastic, especially considering the price point on this set is much lower than a lot of their offerings. They’ve branched out from their normal cotton-blend cup and chosen satin lining, sewn in a considerate way. The stitching is very neat (more so than usual). I hope this is a sign of things to come. Keep it up AP!
This specific set should be quite durable, but as always, I recommend checking out my washing guide to get the most longevity from your pieces.

Overall, Sloane is a beautiful vintage-inspired set that is perfect for anyone who wants to add a touch of old-Hollywood glamour with a modern twist to their lingerie collection. It is very well-constructed, gives a lovely shape, and in classic black is extremely versatile. So go ahead and channel your inner Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, or Bettie Page – this set will have you feeling like a true silver screen siren!

Sloane is available at NIN Luxury Lingerie. Bra €139, thong €65, brief €69, high-waisted brief €89, and suspender €99.
